So, as you know we do a little show called Barbell Shrugged. On this show we talk training and nutrition, but generally wrap the discussion with a bit of humor, story telling and salty language. It’s a nice mix. Well, on rare occasion we wrap a little bit of wisdom around a whole bunch of goofing off.

This week we’re joined by the Crossfit Unicorn Diva Bad-Ass Shana Alverson for some discussion. Yes, we swear plenty on this one, so be warned. But rest assured, there’s still plenty of pearls buried in there. Enjoy!

One of our core objectives, as we live and breath, is to decide when we will move on. From that job. From the vacuous or poisonous relationship. From the failed or unrewarding pursuit. From that container of Chunky Monkey that will only continue to air its irresistible siren song from the…

We all know what we should do this Thursday. We should gather in our respective hometowns with our families. We should adhere to the traditions, carefully and meticulously preparing all those favorite dishes passed down through the generations, each capable of triggering a warm and fuzzy landslide of childhood memories immediately upon tongue contact. And most idealistically, we should take each other by the hand as we survey the bounty before us and really express how we are, in fact, very thankful to have this family of ours. I might add this all-American Hallmark dinner moment includes willful eye contact. We all want to believe in this moment, but in reality things are very different. We love some family members dearly, while we could…
